Our Story

SuperBungees are primarily the creation of our Founder & Chief Engineer, Gary Ragner.
Here's a picture of Gary in 2022 holding some custom order triple-strength SuperBungees that he built:

Gary is a physicist and multi-discipline engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Oregon and a Master's in Aerospace & Mechanical Engineering Sciences from the University of Florida.

Gary is also a prolific inventor with about 80 issued U.S. and International Patents to his credit that cover a broad range of fields, such as: medical devices, stun guns, cellphone safety antennae, vacuums & attachments, alternative energy generation, expandable garden hoses, hand tools, and other industries.  The products and devices Gary has invented or contributed to, have collectively generated hundreds of billions of dollars in revenue.  You can learn more about Gary's history and inventions at this link: https://www.ragnerindustries.com/about

Gary invented SuperBungee's Annular-Pleated Circular Braid cover and stretchy body configuration in 2013 or 2014 while working with his inventing partner (& SuperBungee shareholder), Robert de Rochemont, II.  At the time, Gary and Robert were focused on developing a stronger and superior version of expandable garden hoses; which they had invented in the late 90's/early 2000's, and then filed their first patent application in 2001 (See U.S. Patent 6,948,527).

Gary filed a patent application for what became known as the SuperBungee (& hose) technology on August 20, 2015, and the resulting U.S. Patent 9,844,921 issued on Dec. 19, 2017:

Our team began developing Gary's technology into an actual product in 2018, and the SuperBungee name was born soon after.  We've been gratefully selling SuperBungees to our loyal customers since 2019, thanks for your support!

There have been many copycats of Gary's technologies over the years, including SuperBungees; but Gary is a man of faith in Jesus who takes it all in stride.  He fights the legal battles when he has to, but doesn't get too worked up about the many millions of dollars he could have made - he just loves to invent and develop new technologies!
